"We've been fortunate to perform around the world, jump into studios in Greece, South America and all over Europe. Any time I went home to Iceland, every time I was in L.A., I enjoyed seeing what we could create in each environment.
For Surface Sounds, we wanted to highlight beautiful parts of the tangible world, recording sounds from around the globe and integrating them into the album. Throughout the process of recording abroad, learning new languages and incorporating sounds from the varying countries I visited, what was most remarkable was seeing first-hand how we are more alike than we are different, and how ultimately, we want the best for our neighbors and our community.
Climate change is a threat to our planet and all its inhabitants. Educating ourselves on how to combat the climate crisis and taking action now is crucial if we want to continue enjoying stunning displays of Mother Earth. Fight or flight speaks to our instinctual response to choices: to stay and fight or to flee.
