About Novo Fogo's Un-Endangered Forest™

Novo Fogo is the world's only carbon-negative, 100% organic, zero-waste distillery. We are located in the second most diverse biosphere in the world, the Atlantic Forest of Brazil, where our reforestation project seeks to reverse the course for dozens of threatened native tree species.

We work with forestry scientists, conservations, arborists, and invasive species specialists to identify and track rare tree species in the rainforest around us. We harvest their seeds and foster them into saplings in the EKÔA Park nursery; then we plant the saplings in the correct habitat on private properties across the region – including our own. We are digitally tracking the life journey of these plants from their mother trees in the wild to their forever homes, in order to ensure that quality drives the quantity of our impact. The success of this effort depends on the scientific guidelines instituted across all constituents by the project leader, Dr. Sílvia Ziller from the Brazilian NGO The Horus Institute.
