About The Fall Out Boy Fund

Multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated rock band Fall Out Boy—Patrick Stump (vocals/guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Joe Trohman (guitar) and Andy Hurley (drums) launched The Fall Out Boy Fund, a donor advised fund of The Chicago Community Foundation, in 2017 as a way to give back to Chicago. "Chicago is the city that we grew up in," Pete Wentz said in a statement. "It's important to us that we give back and support the community and local heroes who are on the front lines any way we can."

Since its inception, the band has donated where they feel support is needed in the community. They partnered with Back to the Roots, an organization that brings gardening and food education to schools and helps inspire kids to experience the magic of growing their own food, providing 20,000 elementary school kids in the Chicago area with an organic gardening kit and Back to the Roots curriculum to each student. When the pandemic hit, they donated $100,000 to the Chicago Community COVID-19 Response Fund, a partnership between the City of Chicago and United Way of Metro Chicago. Funds went directly toward food banks, food for students who typically get their meals through public schools and financial support for those out of work. Last year, after the Highland Park shooting, they gave $100,000 to Everytown for Gun Safety to help their continued efforts toward ending gun violence.
