My Name is Human works in collaboration with refugees and the homeless to help them gain control of their own lives through developing long term, self sufficient and sustainable solutions.
Examples of some of our projects include post conflict reconstruction (innovative ways to rebuild cities that are damaged through war, allowing people to return to their home country), up cycling projects such as packing waste plastic into used plastic bottles to create bricks to use as building materials for houses, schools and toilets, and working in partnership with fashion brands to up cycle waste fabrics as reusable sanitary pads that are distributed in refugee camps and ghettos.
Our work with the homeless was born by the theory that in order to change your life, first you must change your mind. We run mentorship programs with our volunteers (ranging from artists, musicians, athletes, chefs, doctors, teachers and many more) to focus on human connection and allowing people to remember who they are or reinvent themselves and build relationships with our volunteers and take part in activities such as skills workshops and day trips, as well as receive support for housing and food.
